An extension of the Take Charge campaign, the Hire an Owl effort targeted students, alumni, parents and employers to
- highlight how Temple readies its students for the real world,
- showcase the value of a Temple degree and
- address the national dialogue about the worth of a university degree.
Hire an Owl demonstrates that employers looking for someone with the skills and know-how to make an immediate impact should turn to Temple. For the campaign—executed by our branding partner, 160over90, and our internal creative teams—digital, radio, transit and outdoor advertising in the Philadelphia, Harrisburg, New York and Washington, D.C., metropolitan areas highlighted the stories and ambitions of Temple students and recent graduates.
Additionally, the Take Charge campaign website directed potential employers to Temple’s Career Center, where they could be connected to the students represented in the campaign or find other job candidates with the qualities celebrated in the campaign.
To continue the Hire an Owl momentum, SM+C complemented billboards and display ads with video vignettes of the campaign’s subjects that were posted online, and news and feature stories that appeared in Temple Now and Temple magazine.
In addition, takecharge.temple.edu links directly to Temple’s Career Center, which is available to aid employers in connecting with—and hopefully hiring—both featured students and other accomplished Owls.
